AGM Minutes
The 32nd Dubai Irish Society annual General meeting was held in the Majilis room at the Aviation Club on September 28th 2006. As there was a full quorum, the chairman opened the proceedings at 8.20 pm by welcoming everyone. He re introduced the 2005/6 committee

Karen ODonnell – Secretary
Bernard Creed – Treasurer
Keith Watts – Membership Secretary
Margaret Hayes – General Member
Meabh Maguire – Celts Liaison Member
Sean Staunton - General Member
Nick and Brian then reviewed the various events that were held during the year

Bernard Creed (treasurer) then presented the accounts for the year. The attendees showed their appreciation that a total of Dhs 96,000 was paid to various charities during the year and that a healthy bank balance remained.
Karen then presented the portal http://www.irishindubai.com. This will be the major communication vehicle of the Irish Society in the future.
As Nick is leaving Dubai for Canada, he stepped down as chairman and presided over the election of the new chairman – Brian King. Brian then in turn presided over the election of the new 2006/7 committee, which are as follows;

In closing, Brian expressed the previous committee’s gratitude to Nick with a small presentation and wished him, his wife Margaret & family all the best for the future.
