EMIRATES AIRLINE FESTIVAL OF LITERATURE 10-13th MARCH 2010 @ INTERCONTINENTAL HOTEL DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY

The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is a celebration of literature in all its forms.  As the Middle East’s largest annual literary festival, it offers residents and overseas visitors the opportunity to meet famous authors, attend literary debates, listen to readings and participate in workshops.
Bigger and better than the 2009 festival, the programme running from March 10th to 13th at Dubai Festival City, will feature a truly international cast of over 80 authors coming from across Africa, America, Asia and Europe to join with a strong core of Arabic writers.
Irish author Darren Shan is part of the line-up at this year’s festival. Darren Shan’s big breakthrough came with his very first children’s book, Cirque du Freak. It attracted rave reviews and massive media attention and became the first in the phenomenally successful 12-part series, The Saga of Darren Shan. Not content with one multi-million copy seller, though, he went on to repeat the trick with a second series, The Demonata and is now published in 34 countries and at least 27 languages.  Darren will be talking about and reading from his novels and will, we hope, also treat festival-goers a sneak preview of his new book, The Thin Executioner. Gory but great!
